At Phoenix AutoBulbs we always strive to ensure that we have the very latest Car Bulbs in stock, and as automotive lighting technology has rapidly advanced so has our upgrade car bulbs section. With each new car lights product we receive we take the manufacturer’s information and combine this with our own tests and customer feedback to ascertain how well they perform. This enables us to give the best advice to our customers on which products will suit their individual requirements.
With the dark winter nights fast approaching one of the most commonly asked questions that we get asked in our car bulbs review is:
”Which of the upgrade Xenon Bulbs are the best?”
At the moment there are two xenon car bulbs that stand head and shoulders above the rest, and they are the Osram Night Breaker and the Philips Extreme Power headlight bulbs. Both of these car bulbs emit nearly twice as much light as standard headlight bulbs, are considerably whiter than the dull yellow halogen bulbs, and can stretch your headlight beam length over 30 meters further than and ordinary bulb.
From customer reviews, our own testing and independent car bulbs reviews the performance of the Philips Extreme Power and Osram Night Breaker bulbs is extremely close, so which one of this high performance bulbs should you choose?
In our opinion the winner is easy to pick, given that their lighting performances are so similar. A pair of Osram Night Breaker H7 xenon bulbs, will cost you under £16 whilst a pair of H7 Philips Extreme Power bulbs will cost you over £26 (and if you want H1 bulbs, Philips do not do them in the Extreme Power range).
So our advice is to go for the Osram Night Breaker car bulbs, and with the money you have saved you could invest in some upgrade sidelight bulbs or upgrade your main beam lights as well.

Most Drivers do not normally think about their car bulbs until the time comes to replace them because one of them has blown, and they worry that driving with faulty car lights could affect their insurance or result in them being pulled over by the Police for having defective lights.
When you do decide to invest in new bulbs for your vehicle the choice can be quite daunting, especially as there are now both upgrade and standard versions of most of the popular car bulbs used in today’s modern cars.
Whilst the bulbs designed to upgrade your car lights may seem considerably more expensive than the price quoted for a standard equivalent, it is well worth considering the more expensive upgrade, especially if you a replacing your headlight bulbs.
Old style standard headlight bulbs use the halogen gas inside them to generate a ball of light that is then projected by the reflector within your car lights outwards into a focused beam of light. Modern upgrade headlight bulbs use xenon gas instead of halogen to produce a brighter and whiter light.
In stringent and rigorous tests when the very best xenon headlight bulbs have been compared against halogen car bulbs, the xenon bulbs produced nearly twice as much light and could project the light up to fourty meters further.
When you consider the extra stress that most drivers can experience when travelling at night, and the distance covered at high motorway speeds, the extra visibility afforded by upgrading to new car bulbs will certainly make up for the fact that xenon headlight bulbs do cost fractionally more than the standard halogen bulbs.
Whilst there are certainly a lot of xenon bulbs for sale, in our opinion the best of the current range of aftermarket car bulbs is the Osram Night Breaker range. When you factor in their incredible performance these xenon bulbs offer and their competitive prices when compared with the opposition the certainly lead the way.

Today, there are countless makes, models and types of car headlight bulbs available to purchase. Therefore, instead of focusing on a specific or certain make of car headlight bulbs, most car drivers opt for the most common type: Standard Halogen bulbs. However, there are now alternatives to the Halogen bulb.
Upgrade Headlight Xenon Bulbs can make a great headlight-bulb alternative to the Standard Halogen bulb. They are referred to as ‘Xenon Bulbs’ for short, as they are filled with a substance or rather a gas called xenon. Unlike Standard Halogen headlight bulbs, which are filled with halogen, xenons generate a rather powerful light output.
According to the statistics on their light output, Xenon Bulbs produce up to 90 percent more light than Halogen Bulbs. This increased brightness is because they are filled with xenon gas – the main reason Xenons are considered one of the most powerful types of car headlight bulbs.
Apart from that, xenon car headlight bulbs can be fitted by the user and are perfectly road legal. Xenons can also project light a staggering 20 metres further than Standard Halogen Bulbs. This of course, means that you can safely drive at night without worrying about not having enough light to guide you.

Are you one of those people who think their car looks dull? Well, there is no need to feel desperate – there is a solution. Why not upgrade your headlights with xenon bulbs? This will certainly help to ‘upgrade’ your car’s appearance. Once you fit a pair of xenon bulbs to your vehicle, you’ll notice the difference immediately when driving at night.
You may be wondering how can car headlight bulbs change or impact a car’s overall look? The powerful, bright and crisp light output produced by xenon bulbs can change your car’s look for the better as these bulbs are incredibly stylish.
For example, you can fit a pair of Osram Cool Blue or ABS Cobalt Blue bulbs to your headlights as they are both extremely bright, powerful – and most importantly – stylish. The light output improvement on these bulbs (when compared to standard halogen bulbs) is 20% and 30% respectively. There’s no doubt they will look great on your car, regardless of the car’s age. When it comes to style and improvement, xenons are the number one bulbs.
And with the blue tint, which also helps to reflect white road markings more clearly to a driver, this kind of light output will look absolutely fabulous on any vehicle.

Is your car’s windscreen in desperate need of cleaning? Do you find it difficult to see all the road markings and signs when you are driving? Well, one thing’s for sure, just cleaning the windscreen yourself isn’t going to help in the long-run. You can replace the windscreen washer fluid and try cleaning the window, but if the wiper blades are old and inefficient then it won’t make a difference. If you replace your windscreen wiper blades with a new set then you can sit back, relax and let your car windscreen wipers do all the cleaning for you.
A car’s windscreen needs cleaning just like a car’s engine needs fuel in order to run. And keeping your windscreen clean at all times isn’t a complicated task. All you have to do is turn your new wipers on, spray the jet of washer fluid and your car’s windscreen will be sparkling clean in only a few seconds. That’s all – and that’s something you can do on a regular basis.
If you tend to use your vehicle quite frequently it’s only reasonable that you turn those wipers on regularly. Over time they can easily wear down and do not work as well in cleaning your car window. Driving with a dirty windscreen is very dangerous, so you can simply avoid this risk by purchasing a new set of windscreen wiper blades.
Pick yourself a good, efficient set of car wiper blades and you’ll be on your way with a sparkling clean windscreen in no time.
