I can speak from personal experience with Xenon bulbs (PIAA - 7,000K) that were rated for my vehicle as far as power consumption, heat out put and so forth. With in a week I was out replacing both headlamp housing because the head from the bulbs had actually started to melt the plastic housing and lamp connector.

You should always contact your vehicle manufacture to find out what the requirements your vehicle has for any out of factory component you are replacing on your vehicle.
