This AA warning triangle is EC approved and is a sensible item to keep in the back of the car for emergencey use. Placed behind the car ( about 10 metres) it will warn oncoming vehicles that there is an obstruction ahead.

The warning triangle is compulsory in many European countries and on the spot fines are imposed if you do not have one when driving abroad

In France it is compulsory to have a warning triangle
In Spain it is compulsory to have TWO warning triangles (one for the front and one at the back)
